God how I love concerts.
Seriously. I’ve never been high or done any sort of drug, but I’d imagine me at concerts is sort of the equivalent.
Tonight: Falling in Reverse.
- Oh, Sleeper – Decent. Not going to be my new favorite band, but tolerable.
- Skip The Foreplay – I’m sorry, but when you scream literally every syllable [and not even good screaming. I have nothing against screamo. Preferably in moderation, but ya know. This guy sounded like he swallowed nails or something.] INCLUDING when you’re just talking, enough is enough. Go back to Montreal. And lose the pornstache.
- A Dying Regime – Kickass. And Dane, the lead singer, is super nice. [They all seemed nice, but he’s the only one I talked to.] So I got a shirt and had it signed. Because they were worth it.
It’s sad when the local band for one show is better than the two supporting acts for the whole tour. Either way, I have yet another local band to add to my list of awesome. Can’t complain.
Oh. And Falling In Reverse. They so made up for the two less-than-fantastic bands. By a longshot. Radke you magnificent motherfucker. This is why I was always such a huge Escape the Fate fan, and why I was so sad when he got kicked out/thrown in jail. [And after going through all of that, it seems he’s – at least as of now – turned things around. Genuinely seems like a cool guy. And has talent out the wazoo.] AND why I’m now a giant Falling In Reverse fan, and can’t stand the new Escape the Fate. [Mainly because I despise Craig Mabbitt. But hey.]
Highlight of the night: The fact they played Situations and Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche. [Two songs from the original ETF when Ronnie was the lead singer. My favorite two, at that. Granted, most people’s favorite is Situations, I suppose. But NGEFTIC was the first song I heard by them, the one that made me love them and him, and still one of my all time favorite songs.] So, my happiness is through the fucking roof.
It kind of entertained me, though, how the two girls next to me were rocking out and singing along to all the Falling In Reverse stuff, but when they played the old ETF songs, they were stone-faced and had no idea. I only like and know FIR because I loved ETF so much when Ronnie was in it.
I think the whole thing was better because of that; the fact I’ve been a fan of his since I was like 13 and was so sad when he got thrown in jail that I’d never get to see them live – never get to see Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche live. And now, I am a happy camper.
